Dr. Koirala meets UK MP Alex Baker

KATHMANDU: Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala met with Alex Baker, the Chair of the UK Parliament’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Nepal, during his visit to the UK.
The meeting, held at the Nepali Embassy in London, covered various political issues.
Dr. Koirala raised concerns regarding the service benefits of ex-Gurkha soldiers and emphasized the need for a direct flight between London and Kathmandu with British Airways.
He also discussed the challenges Nepal is facing due to climate change, including melting glaciers that are affecting the beauty of the Himalayas.
Dr. Koirala proposed that Nepal should receive compensation for the damage caused by climate change, seeking assistance from the UK in this matter.
Baker expressed her commitment to providing as much support as possible.
The meeting was also attended by the Acting Ambassador to the UK, Bipin Duwadi.
