Shekhar Koirala meets key UK leaders to strengthen Nepal-UK ties

KATHMANDU: Senior Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala, currently on a visit to the UK, held a special meeting with Conservative Party leader and former Foreign Minister James Cleverly at the British Parliament (House of Commons).
Discussions focused on deepening Nepal-UK relations and exploring new avenues for bilateral cooperation, according to Dr. Koirala’s secretariat.
During the meeting, Dr. Koirala proposed additional support for Nepal-based projects funded by the UK.
Earlier, Dr. Koirala also met Ian Martin, former head of UNMIN and a key figure in Nepal’s peace process, in London.
Martin highlighted the need to expedite the completion of Nepal’s peace process, emphasizing its unfinished aspects.
Both sides acknowledged the crucial role of international cooperation in Nepal’s stability and progress, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening mutual ties.
