Advocate defending cooperative victims faces attack

KATHMANDU: Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi, representing victims of a cooperative scam, faced an attempted attack on Wednesday at the Kathmandu District Court premises in Babarmahal.

The incident occurred shortly before the court was set to issue a detention order against Rabi Lamichhane, Chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party and former Home Minister, in connection with the Swarnalaxmi Cooperative embezzlement case.

Advocate Tripathi stated that the attacker targeted him, alleging, “This is the man trying to jail Rabi Lamichhane.”

Police have detained one individual in connection with the attack.
