Rabi’s defense lawyers conclude arguments; govt prosecutors begin their arguments

KATHMANDU: The defense team of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has concluded its arguments in the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative fraud case at the Kathmandu District Court.

On Wednesday, four lawyers representing Lamichhane argued for his release on general bail during the detention hearing.
The defense emphasized that Lamichhane should be freed without requiring detention.
Following the defense arguments, government prosecutors have started presenting their case. A court ruling on the matter is expected later today.
Previously, Lamichhane was implicated in the Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud case in Pokhara and was released on bail of Rs 6.5 million.
After his release, he appeared at the Kathmandu District Court in connection with the Swarnalakshmi Cooperative case.
