Seven Nepali players, including Sandeep Lamichhane, go unsold in PSL auction
In the 2021 PSL draft, Lamichhane and Kami were among 11 Nepali players shortlisted but went unsold.
KATHMANDU: Seven Nepali cricketers, including star leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane, remained unsold in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) auction held at Lahore’s Hujoori Garden.
Any teams picked no Nepali players during the event.
Lamichhane was listed in the Diamond category, while all-rounder Dipendra Singh Airee, along with Aasif Sheikh, Arjun Saud, Dev Khanal, Gulshan Jha, and Sompal Kami, were placed in the Silver category, as per the draft list released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

Notably, Lamichhane was in the Platinum category, while wicketkeeper-batter Binod Bhandari featured in Gold.
Last year, eight Nepali players, including Dipendra, Dev, Aasif, Arjun, Aarif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, and Sompal Kami, were part of the draft but found no buyers.
The PSL 2025 season, featuring six teams—Islamabad United, Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators—is scheduled to take place from April to May.
