NEPSE index declines for 2nd consecutive day

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index dropped for the second consecutive day this week, decreasing by 15.54 points to settle at 2,594.13 points.
A total of 138,705,579 shares from 322 companies were traded in 64,278 transactions, amounting to a turnover of Rs 6.65 billion.
All market groups saw a decline, with the trade group leading the fall by 1.89%, followed by the hotel and tourism sector (1.36%) and the finance sector (1.32%).

In terms of individual stock performance, Barahi Hydropower Public Limited saw a positive circuit breaker, while the share prices of Atmanirbhar Microfinance Financial Institution Limited and Sindhu Development Bank Limited experienced negative circuit breakers.
NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited led the turnover with transactions worth Rs 452.55 million, while Machhapuchhre Bank’s promoter shares saw the highest trading volume with 849,833 shares bought and sold.
