Archaeological sites be preserved: Chief Minister Lama

CHITWAN: Bagmati Province Chief Minister Bahadur Singh Lama has said that the protection of archaeological sites is the responsibility of the state.

After inspecting Bagishwari Spiritual Council, Yogi Narharinath Ashram in Bharatpur Metropolitan City-1 this morning, he said that knowledge would be transferred to the new generation only if natural and archaeological sites were preserved.

He said, “The province government is committed to the protection of archaeological sites.” On the occasion, he inspected the natural hospital, Samabesi (inclusive) gurukul (school) at the same place. Ashram chair Shailendra Piya and general secretary Ashok Pokharel informed about various structures including the ashram.

Forest and Environment Minister of Bagmati Province Krishna Silwal, members of Bagmati Province Uttam Joshi, Geeta Gurung among others were present on the occasion.
