Rabi Lamichhane’s detention hearing underway in Kathmandu
A charge sheet has been filed by the government seeking restitution of the amount.
KATHMANDU: The detention hearing of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has begun before Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari.
Government Attorney Khadindra Raj Katwal, presenting arguments on behalf of the complainants, introduced evidence in the case related to the misappropriation of funds from the Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperative.
According to police investigations, Lamichhane is accused of illegally withdrawing Rs 57.8 million from the cooperative.
A charge sheet has been filed by the government seeking restitution of the amount.
After the complainant’s arguments, Lamichhane’s legal team will present their defense.
Lamichhane appeared in court on Sunday following charges related to the cooperative fund misappropriation.
The detention hearing will now decide whether Lamichhane will remain in custody or be released.
