Dipendra’s Gulf Giants suffer defeat in first match

KATHMANDU: The performance of Nepali cricketers in the third edition of the International T20 League (ILT20) was mixed.

Dipendra Singh Airee’s team, Gulf Giants, suffered a defeat in their opening match, while Kushal Malla’s team, Desert Vipers, started with a victory.

In Sunday night’s match, Gulf Giants set a target of 175 runs for Sharjah Warriors.

However, Sharjah completed the target in 20 overs, losing 7 wickets, and won by 3 wickets.

Dipendra was not included in the playing XI for this match.

This is his second season in the league, but he was not given an opportunity to debut last season either.

Kushal Malla’s Desert Vipers defeated Abu Dhabi Knight Riders by 7 wickets in their first match.

Chasing a target of 167 runs, Desert Vipers achieved the target in 18.4 overs, losing 3 wickets.

Kushal was also not included in the playing XI for this game. This is his debut season in the league.
