Detention hearing for Rabi delayed as prosecutors seek more time

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane has completed his statement in connection to the Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperative fraud case in Kalimati, Kathmandu.

Lamichhane appeared before the court on Sunday morning, where his statement was recorded by the bench of Judge Madhav Prasad Adhikari.

Although the detention hearing was expected to take place the same day, it was postponed as government prosecutors requested additional time.

Senior advocates Raman Shrestha and Sushil Pant will represent Lamichhane in the legal proceedings.

An indictment has already been filed in the Kathmandu District Court regarding the alleged fraud linked to the Kalimati-based cooperative.
