NEPSE index declines on the first trading day of the week

On Sunday, the NEPSE index fell by 25.41 points, settling at 2,609.67.
A total of 80,81,631 shares from 301 companies were traded 46,614 times today, with the total turnover amounting to Rs 3.99 billion.
All sub-indices witnessed a decline.
The finance sector experienced the steepest fall, dropping by 3.60%, followed by the development bank sector, which declined by 1.60%.
The banking sector decreased by 0.86%, hotels and tourism by 0.77%, hydropower by 1.44%, investment by 0.39%, and the life insurance sector by 0.12%.
Similarly, the manufacturing and processing sector dropped by 1.36%, microfinance by 0.87%, mutual funds by 0.42%, non-life insurance by 0.73%, trading by 0.10%, and the others category by 0.60%.
In today’s trading, the shares of VIN Nepal Microfinance Financial Institution Limited hit a positive circuit breaker, while the shares of Nyadi Hydropower Limited hit a negative circuit breaker.
Based on turnover, NRN Infrastructure and Development Limited recorded the highest transaction amount of Rs 204.15 million.
In terms of the number of shares traded, Singati Hydro Energy Limited topped the chart with 636,804 shares changing hands.
