KATHMANDU: RightPath Career Counselling at Putalisadak, Kathmandu, celebrated its 8th anniversary on Friday with a special event at its headquarters.

The anniversary celebration was attended by notable guests, including Sheshraj Bhattrai, Chair of the Nepal Educational Consultancy Association (ECAN), former Minister and CPN-S leader Ramkumari Jhankri, former Miss Nepal Asmi Shrestha, who is also the brand ambassador of RightPath, ECAN officials, members, and other dignitaries.

The event was also attended by consultants, representatives of partner educational institutions, and employees of RightPath. With the completion of its successful eighth year, RightPath has entered its ninth year.

During the event, RightPath CEO Philip DC thanked everyone for their support and cooperation. He stated that the organization has worked towards its goal of providing proper counseling for quality education. Acknowledging the contribution of all its branches, he said, “RightPath has come this far with the hard work and dedication of my team. The continuous efforts of our branches across the country have led us to this position. I am grateful for the trust and love shown by parents and students as we continue to help many Nepali students reach their desired destinations.”

CEO DC emphasized that the counseling profession is sensitive and that RightPath’s goal is to provide excellent and trustworthy services.

Former Minister Ramkumari Jhankri addressed the crowd, pointing out that while studying abroad to gain quality education and skills is good, the tendency to criticize the country without contributing to its development is harmful. She critically discussed the psychology of Nepali society, the reality on the ground, and the growing trend of going abroad.

She suggested that consultants must help students understand the realities of studying abroad early on. She added that if students bring back the skills learned abroad and apply them in Nepal, the country can be developed.

Jhankri further stated that spreading negativity on social media will lead nowhere. She wished RightPath success in providing proper counseling and achieving further success in business.

On the occasion of the 8th anniversary, Sheshraj Bhattrai, Chair of ECAN, congratulated RightPath for completing eight years of professional and respectful service. He expressed confidence that the organization will continue to succeed in the years ahead. Referring to Jhankri’s address, Bhattrai acknowledged that if young leaders have such views, there is still much to learn about the educational consultancy business.

He mentioned that they have changed the definition of studying abroad, stating, “When I was a student, studying abroad was an unimaginable concept. It was only for a limited number of elite families. Now, we have worked to send middle-class students to various parts of the world.”

He added that after studying abroad, the language blaming the country for its downfall should not be used. “We want middle-class students to go abroad, gain a quality degree, acquire knowledge and skills, and return to contribute to Nepal’s development. We don’t just send students; we also aim to bring international students to Nepal once the government creates a suitable environment,” Bhattrai concluded, predicting that in the near future, this dream will become a reality.

In conjunction with the anniversary, RightPath also held an award distribution ceremony. The winners of the “Predict and Win” competition, which was part of the Euro Cup football event held months earlier, were awarded prizes. The winners received smartphones.
