KATHMANDU: Vice President Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav has expressed the confidence that all sectors could advance rapidly if the nation could forge ahead with unity.
In a message of best wishes on the occasion of the National Unity Day today, he said that only a nation that is united can become economically strong.
“May the National Unity Day become a significant catalyst of enhancing social harmony and fraternity and respect towards each other in society through the internalization of Nepal’s multi-caste, multi-linguistic, multi-religious, multi-cultural and geographical diversity,” Vice President Yadav said in his message of best wishes.
Stating that the 27th of the Nepali month Poush is celebrated as the National Unity Day and Prithvi Jayanti every year, the Vice President said this Day us commemorated as a day to further strengthen Nepal’s ‘unity in diversity’ ethos and to remember those who contributed to the national unification.
He viewed that the Day provided a forum for further strengthening the sentiment of national unity, describing it as an occasion to celebrate national unity amidst the diversity.
The Vice President said a variety of programmes organized on the occasion of the National Unity Day should inspire one and all to internalize the sovereign power of the people, independence and autonomy while keeping intact Nepal’s independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, national unity and dignity.
