Sandeep Lamichhane in PSL Platinum draft; 6 other Nepalese in Silver

KATHMANDU: Several Nepalese players have been listed in the draft for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) set to take place early next year.
Players in the draft are categorized into Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging tiers.
Sandeep Lamichhane is the only Nepalese player included in the prestigious Platinum category. Earlier, six Nepali players were listed in the Silver category announced last Wednesday.
These players include Aasif Sheikh, Arjun Saud, Dev Khanal, Dipendra Singh Airee, Gulshan Kumar Jha, and Sompal Kami.
As per the draft rules, each team must select three players each from the Platinum, Diamond, and Gold categories.
Additionally, teams can sign five Silver, two Emerging, and two supplementary players. A total of 356 foreign players are part of the draft.
Players in the Platinum category, where Sandeep Lamichhane is listed, are expected to earn between $130,000 to $170,000.
Meanwhile, those in the Silver category will earn between $15,000 and $25,000. Notably, Sandeep went unsold in the Platinum category during last year’s draft.
This year’s PSL draft is scheduled for Dec 12, with the tournament set to run from Jan 27 to Feb 27 in Pakistan.
