KATHMANDU: Kumari Bank Limited has launched a new digital payment service in collaboration with Nepal Clearing House Limited (NCHL).

The bank has introduced a feature that enables users within the NCHL network to make payments using NepalPay QR.

Through this service, Alipay+ users can conveniently and securely make payments at businesses equipped with Kumari Bank’s NepalPay QR.

The bank believes this initiative will establish itself as a safe and seamless cross-border payment solution, targeting users affiliated with the Alipay+ network.

With this agreement, NepalPay QR, along with its interoperable QR codes available in Nepal, can now be scanned by members of the Alipay+ network to facilitate cross-border payments.

According to the bank, this service simplifies payment processes for tourists visiting Nepal from countries such as China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Malaysia, the Philippines, Mongolia, Thailand, South Korea, Sweden, and Singapore.

Tourists can use their local mobile wallets or payment systems to scan NepalPay QR codes across Nepal.

Businesses accepting NepalPay QR can now receive payments from 14 international e-wallets and mobile banking apps, including Alipay, AlipayHK, Tinaba, MPay, Touch’n Go Wallet, MyPB, Hipay, GCash, Changi Pay, OCBC Digital, KakaoPay, Naver Pay, Toss Pay, and TrueMoney.

Kumari Bank reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Nepal’s digital payment ecosystem and enhancing the modern banking experience by continuing to introduce such innovative initiatives.
