KATHMANDU: Medical professional Durga Prasai has been released on bail after paying a bond of three lakh rupees.

Prasai, along with his accomplice Harichandra Phuyal, was accused of threatening senior officials of Nepal Rastra Bank and businessmen.

Both individuals were released on bail, with the court setting the amount at three lakh rupees each.

The Kathmandu District Court, under Judge Thakur Prasad Kharel, issued an order for their release on bail. Following the court’s order, both Prasai and Phuyal submitted their bail amounts and were released, according to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police.

Prasai faces charges of criminal gain and organized crime, with a case filed against him and two others.

One of the accused, Ramchandra Mainali, remains at large.
