Three accused in Surya Darshan Case released after paying bail

KATHMANDU: Three of the seven accused in the Surya Darshan Cooperative fraud case have been released after posting bail.

Former board members Krishna Gurung, ex-vice chairperson Meena Gurung, and ex-treasurer Aarati Gurung were granted bail by the Kaski District Court.

Judge Neetij Rai’s bench had ordered Krishna to post bail of Rs 1 lakh, while Meena and Arati were required to pay Rs 5 lakh each.

The accused secured their release after depositing the required amounts.

In a related case, the court also ordered the release of suspended chairperson of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, on bail of Rs 65 lakh.

However, Lamichhane will not be released immediately due to pending cases in Kathmandu and other districts.
