KATHMANDU: The Kaski District Court has ordered the release of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane on bail in connection with a cooperative fraud case.

The bench of Judge Nitiz Rai set the bail amount at Rs 6.5 million.

Following the court’s decision, Lamichhane’s supporters and RSP members expressed their happiness.

In Pokhara, his supporters took to the streets, chanting slogans like “Victory belongs to the people” and “Rabi Dai, Hail Hail!”

The streets of Pokhara are crowded with RSP supporters, and security personnel have been heavily deployed in the area.

Movement around the court premises has been strictly monitored.

Despite the bail order, Lamichhane will not be released immediately.

He also faces a separate case registered at the Kathmandu District Court and will be taken there for further legal proceedings.
