Case filed against Nuwakot’s CAO for bribery
Sapkota was arrested on Dec 13 for attempting to bribe officials with a sum of 100,000 rupees at the CIAA office in Kanchanpur.
KATHMANDU: A case has been filed against Dhurva Prasad Sapkota, the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Kispang Rural Municipality in Nuwakot.
On Thursday, a team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed the case at the Special Court.
Sapkota was arrested on Dec 13 for attempting to bribe officials with a sum of 100,000 rupees at the CIAA office in Kanchanpur.
He had arrived at the office carrying the bribe money and voluntarily admitted to bringing it for the investigation officer.
He was immediately detained after his admission.
The charges against Sapkota also include allegations of taking bribes during his tenure as the Chief Administrative Officer of Mallekh Rural Municipality in Achham, specifically related to the purchase of machinery.
