Indian National held with rhino horn-like object & drugs in Jhapa

KATHMANDU: An Indian national was arrested by police in Jhapa for possessing a rhino horn-like object along with illegal drugs.
The arrest took place at the Himalaya Guest House in Kakarbitta, Mechinagar Municipality-6, where Narayan Ramdham from North Mendabari, West Bengal, was staying.
The arrest followed a tip-off about suspected drug trafficking, prompting police to raid the hotel.
During the search, officers found brown heroin, a drug labeled ‘Pevan Space Plus,’ and a rhino horn-like object in Ramdham’s room, according to the Jhapa District Police Office.
The rhino horn-like object, found inside a carton, has a circumference of 18.6 inches, a height of 8.6 inches, and weighs 1.7 kilograms.
Authorities have stated that the object’s authenticity will be confirmed after testing.
Additionally, 3.76 grams of heroin and 2.8 grams of heroin wrapped in plastic were seized.
Police also recovered 18 tablets labeled ‘Pevan Space Plus,’ a digital scale for weighing drugs, and two mobile phones from the suspect.
Ramdham is currently being held at the Kankadbitta Area Police Office for further investigation.
