KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has postponed the case against Arun Chaudhary, a federal member of parliament elected from Kailali, representing the Nagarik Unmukti Party (NUP).

Although a hearing was scheduled on Wednesday, the court was unable to deliver its verdict.

A five-judge bench, including the Chief Justice, decided to defer the decision, stating that the verdict was not yet ready.

The bench, consisting of Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut and Justices Sapna Pradhan Malla, Kumar Regmi, Hari Phuyal, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Sharma, rescheduled the date for announcing the decision on the writ petition against Chaudhary.

The petition, filed by lawyer Basant Joshi, questions whether Chaudhary is eligible or disqualified to hold the parliamentary seat.
