KATHMANDU: The Lord Buddha Education Foundation (LBEF) will organize a 48-hour-long hackathon, ‘HackX LBEF,’ from Jan 11-13.

The student-led competition will be held at the LBEF Foundation in Maitidevi.

Thirteen student teams will compete to develop new solutions addressing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The event will be organized, managed, and conducted by the students themselves.

Experienced mentors will guide the participants during the event, and the teams will present their projects to a jury.

Projects will be evaluated based on innovation, feasibility, impact, and their alignment with the SDGs.

LBEF President Engineer Pankaj Jalan emphasized that the hackathon is an excellent opportunity for leadership development.

Executive Director Engineer Prakash Kumar Kejriwal highlighted that students will not only develop innovative solutions but also gain life skills through the competition.

The winning team will receive awards.

The term “hackathon” combines “hack” and “marathon.” A hackathon involves using computer applications or software to solve real-life problems efficiently. It focuses on creating solutions to problems through technology within a specific time frame, often referred to as “hacking” solutions with a quick turnaround.
