Filming begins for movie “Soltini” with star-studded cast
The film will be shot in the scenic landscapes of Ilam and Bhojpur.
KATHMANDU: Filming for the Nepali movie Soltini has officially begun.
On Tuesday, the first shot was taken at the small Pathibhara Temple in Ilam’s Rong, during an auspicious moment.
Director Arjun Subedi revealed that the film will follow a 31-day shooting schedule.
Actors Prakash Saput, actresses Parsa Limbu and Sabbu Gurung, along with actor Sundar Dhital, shot the initial significant scene at the temple complex.
The film will be shot in the scenic landscapes of Ilam and Bhojpur.
The movie boasts a strong presence of well-known Nepali film stars, including Prakash Saput, Wilson Bikram Rai, Parsa Limbu, Sabbu Gurung, Ravindra Jha, Prakash Ghimire, Prem Subba, Kavita Ale, Sundar Dhital, and Sujan Khatiwada.
It was earlier announced that Saput will play the role of ‘Bhimasen Pokhrel,’ while Limbu will portray ‘Dilasa Rai.’
This will be the first time the duo appears on screen together.
The film will raise a voice against inhumanity and caste discrimination prevalent in society, with a central love story between two main characters adding to its appeal.
The movie’s music will be composed by Prashant Sivakoti and Hercules Basnet, with cinematography by Sushan Prajapati.
Produced by Planet Three Films, in collaboration with Nepcine and Yolo Entertainment, the film will be backed by producers Regina Bist and Sansar Chaulagai.
Publicity design will be handled by Trident Concept, while RR Films Pvt. Ltd. will manage distribution within Nepal and Nepcine will handle international distribution. Digital rights have been acquired by OSR Digital.
The film is scheduled for release on Sept 19, 2025, coinciding with Constitution Day.
