NIC Asia Bank inaugurates Library at Birendra Adarsha Secondary School, Chitwan

KATHMANDU: As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), NIC Asia Bank has inaugurated a library building at Birendra Adarsha Secondary School in Rapti Municipality-7, Chitwan, Bagmati Province.

The library, constructed with the active participation of the school and local authorities, was officially handed over and inaugurated on Jan 3.

The project aims to provide students with essential educational resources, fostering a conducive learning environment and enhancing the academic quality of the school.

Inauguration Ceremony

The ceremony was graced by Sumita Dallakoti, Chairperson of Ward No. 7, Deputy PAE of Bagmati Province (Regions 1, 2, 4, and 5), Dilip Dangi, Assistant PAE of Bagmati Province (Region 2), Ram Krishna Kafle, and representatives of the school, among others.

With the library now operational, approximately 1,050 students and teachers from the school stand to benefit directly from the facility.

Previous Library Initiatives

NIC Asia Bank has completed similar library projects in various provinces, including:

  • Lumbini Province: Public Secondary School, Chhapiya, Siyari Rural Municipality-4, Rupandehi
  • Madhesh Province: Bala Sundari Secondary School, Bhagwanpur Rural Municipality-1, Siraha
  • Gandaki Province: Pavitra Secondary School, Bandipur Rural Municipality-1, Tanahun
  • Sudurpaschim Province: Mohanyal Secondary School, Joshipur Rural Municipality-1, Kailali
  • Koshi Province:
    1. Adarsha Secondary School, Buddhashanti Rural Municipality-2, Jhapa
    2.Gauriganj Secondary School, Gauriganj Rural Municipality-3, Jhapa

Additionally, the library building at Siddhartha Secondary School in Birgunj Metropolitan City-14, Parsa, Madhesh Province, has been completed and handed over for operation.

Investment and Impact

NIC Asia Bank allocated a budget of Rs 20.53 million for these library construction projects.

With these facilities, over 11,000 students are expected to benefit directly, gaining access to essential learning resources.

The bank believes this initiative will not only enhance the students’ academic performance but also contribute significantly to their personal development.
