GIBL celebrates 18th anniversary with tree plantation initiative

KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank Limited (GIBL) has announced a plan to plant 18,000 trees across Nepal in the current fiscal year as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The announcement marks the bank’s 18th anniversary, celebrated on Jan 2, 2024, as it enters its 19th year of operation.

The tree plantation initiative will be conducted in collaboration with various local organizations and institutions at different locations across the country.

To kick off the campaign, the bank’s Chief Executive Officer, Surendra Raj Regmi, planted saplings at the bank’s premises in Anamnagar during a special anniversary program.

Speaking at the event, CEO Regmi emphasized the importance of tree plantation, stating, “Planting trees is vital for preserving nature, maintaining environmental balance, preventing landslides, and protecting water sources.” He also noted that the initiative will continue throughout the fiscal year, with the goal of planting 18,000 trees at favorable times.

The event was attended by the bank’s Deputy CEO, Suman Pokharel, along with other senior management staff.

Global IME Bank has been actively engaging in various social initiatives under its CSR commitments, demonstrating its dedication to societal and environmental well-being.
