NEPSE index sees modest increase, trading volume hits Rs 5.38 billion

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a modest increase today, rising by 6.16 points to settle at 2,646.84.

A total of 305 companies traded 12,081,606 shares in 66,626 transactions, with a total turnover of Rs 5.38 billion (5,384,672,295).

In today’s trading, the banking sector dropped by 0.27%, hotels and tourism by 0.04%, manufacturing and processing by 0.25%, and other sectors by 0.18%.

While the investment sector remained stable, the indices of other sectors saw gains.

The Finance sector led with a 2.65% increase, followed by Bikas Banks at 0.80%, Hydropower at 0.42%, Life Insurance at 0.67%, Microfinance at 0.44%, Mutual Funds at 0.35%, Non-life Insurance at 0.42%, and Trading at 0.59%.

Shares of Saptakoshi Bikas Bank Ltd. and Nygadi Hydropower Ltd. hit the positive circuit breaker, while shares of Atmanirbhar Microfinance Financial Institution Ltd. and Dolti Power Company Ltd. hit the negative circuit breaker.
