Earthquake damages house in Sankhuwasabha

According to Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Khadka, the house of local resident Tenchevi Sherpa was damaged.

KATHMANDU: A 6.8-magnitude earthquake struck at 6:50 AM today, with its epicenter in Dingyi County, located in China’s Zizang Autonomous Region.

The earthquake caused damage to a house in Kimathanka, Bhotechola Rural Municipality-1, Sankhuwasabha.

According to Chief District Officer Binod Kumar Khadka, the house of local resident Tenchevi Sherpa was damaged.

The two-story stone house, covered with corrugated sheets, suffered cracks. Seven members of Sherpa’s family were living in the house, but they remain unharmed.

There have been no reported human casualties in the district due to the earthquake, Khadka confirmed.

Local government employees, along with the Nepal Police and Armed Police Force, have been deployed to assess the damage.
