KATHMANDU: Two individuals were arrested by the police on Sunday on charges of involvement in fraudulent activities by posing as fake police inspectors.

The arrested individuals have been identified as 38-year-old Sudip Thapa, a resident of Thapachok, Kageshwari Manohara Municipality-7, Kathmandu, and 44-year-old Kishor Kumar Chaudhary, originally from Kadak Municipality-10, Saptari, and currently residing in Koteshwor, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-32.

They were arrested for misusing the uniform of a Nepal Police Inspector, creating fake police identification cards, publishing a list of special promotion recommendations, and taking photos in police inspector uniforms.

They lured people with promises of sending them abroad for foreign employment in countries like Canada and Australia.

Based on this information, they deceived various individuals.

The police, after receiving a tip-off, took action and apprehended them, with the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku leading the investigation.

The accused have been sent to the District Police Office Kathmandu Bhadrakali for further investigation and legal proceedings related to fraud and forgery, as confirmed by the Nepal Police Central Office.
