Earthquake damages two houses in Solukhumbu

KATHMANDU: Two houses in Thulung Dudhkoshi Rural Municipality and Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality sustained damage due to an earthquake today.
In Thulung Dudhkoshi-7, Deusa Luruba, the two-story stone-and-mud house with a stone roof belonging to 50-year-old Harka Bahadur Khatri suffered significant damage, according to police reports.
Similarly, a two-story house made of stone, mud, and tin roof belonging to Angnima Sherpa in Khumbu Pasanglhamu Rural Municipality-5, Helajung, was also damaged, informed Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dwarika Prasad Ghimire.
A police team has been dispatched to the affected areas, but a detailed assessment of the damages is still pending.
Chief District Officer (CDO) Anoj Kumar Ghimire stated that the full extent of the damage across the district is yet to be determined.
All mechanisms, including the police, have been placed on standby for potential rescue and relief efforts.
