Stock market gains momentum today

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index surged by 1.89% (49.12 points) to close at 2,640.68 points, bringing positive momentum to the stock market.

According to NEPSE, shares of 312 companies were traded today, with a total of 15.46 million shares exchanged over 75,540 transactions.

The day’s total turnover reached Rs 6.30 billion.

Out of the traded stocks, the prices of 226 companies increased, while 12 companies saw a decline in their share prices.

Additionally, the share prices of four companies remained stable.

Top Performers:

• Atmanirbhar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited hit the positive circuit breaker.
• Super Madi Hydropower Limited saw a 9.70% increase.
• Sahas Urja Limited recorded an 8.70% rise.
• Maya Khola Hydropower Company Limited climbed by 8.59%.

Underperformers:

Upakar Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited and Samudayik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited hit the negative circuit breaker.
