KATHMANDU: Nepal is likely to experience rain and snowfall today and tomorrow due to the influence of a western low-pressure system entering the country.
Meteorologist Pratibha Manandhar reported that clouds started entering the western region of Nepal on Sunday evening.
This system is expected to bring rain and snowfall over the next two days.
According to Manandhar, partial cloud cover is observed in the Sudurpaschim Province this morning, while other provinces have partial to moderate cloud cover.
Some areas in the Terai region are experiencing fog. During the day and night, light to scattered rainfall is expected in some hilly areas of Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.
Additionally, light snowfall is likely in a few high-altitude and Himalayan regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.
A few isolated spots in other high-altitude areas may also witness snowfall.
As the western low-pressure system moves eastward, Kathmandu Valley may experience rain tomorrow.
The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has advised the public to stay cautious, as clouds, rain, snow, fog, and mist could impact daily life, health, transportation, and air travel.
