KATHMANDU: The Central Committee meetings of Nepal’s ruling parties, CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center), which began on Sunday, will continue today.

UML Meeting

The CPN-UML meeting is scheduled for 11 AM at the party’s central office in Chyasal.

During the session, Central Committee members will provide feedback on the political report presented by party Chair KP Sharma Oli. On the first day, 27 members shared their opinions on the 47-page political report.

Oli’s report outlines the current political scenario and the party’s future direction. The document includes institutional stances on various political entities, portraying a conciliatory approach toward coalition partner Nepali Congress while taking a more aggressive tone against the primary opposition, the Maoist Center.

Maoist Center Meeting

Meanwhile, the Maoist Center’s Central Committee meeting, which began yesterday at Dhumbarahi, will see members sharing their views starting today.

On the opening day, party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ presented an organizational and political report titled “Transformation and Reconstruction of the Party: Today’s Necessity.” The report emphasizes broader leftist unity and prioritizes a month-long Terai-Madhesh Awakening Campaign beginning Feb 13. Prachanda also proposed another one-month campaign centered on the Hulaki Highway.

Both meetings are expected to shape the political strategies of the ruling parties in the coming months.
