Fraud case filed against Rabi Lamichhane & 39 others in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Court has registered a fraud case against Rabi Lamichhane, President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), along with 39 others.
The case involves allegations of embezzling funds from the Swarnalaxmi Multipurpose Cooperative.
According to the prosecution, Lamichhane and others are accused of misappropriating funds amounting to Rs 1.19 billion (approx.).
The case, filed by the District Government Attorney’s Office on Sunday, names key individuals, including former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, GB Rai, Deepak Lama, Kumar Ramtel, and Navin Achhami, as co-defendants.
Following an investigation by the Kathmandu District Police Range, a detailed report was submitted to the Government Attorney’s Office last Thursday, leading to the registration of the case.
