KATHMANDU: Smart Choice Technologies Limited (SCT), a licensed payment system operator by Nepal Rastra Bank, and Hamro Pay (Len Den Sewa Pvt. Ltd.), a payment service provider, have signed an agreement to facilitate payment services through “Smart QR.”

Following the agreement, Hamro Pay users can now load their wallets and make payments to merchants using Smart QR.

Additionally, businesses and merchants can accept payments through Smart QR, which adheres to international EMV standards and Nepal QR standards. Notably, Smart QR is Nepal’s first interoperable QR code.

The agreement signing ceremony took place at the office of Len Den Sewa Pvt. Ltd., where SCT CEO Mr. Manoj Ghimire and Hamro Pay CEO Mr. Shishir Pokhrel officially signed the agreement.

Smart QR enables real-time settlement of transactions directly into merchants’ accounts, enhancing convenience for both Hamro Pay users and merchants.

The service is expected to simplify transactions significantly.
