2nd edition of Aji Finance Int’l Men’s Volleyball Cup from next month in Sydney

KATHMANDU: The second edition of the Aji Finance International Men’s Volleyball Cup 2026 will be held next month in Sydney, Australia.
Organized by The Gorkha Sports Club, the event will take place on Sunday, 26th January at the Overland Basketball Centre in Lidcombe.
In addition to the international men’s volleyball cup, a Men’s Volleyball Cup for players aged 35 and above will also be held on the same day.
At least 14 teams will participate in the open category, and six teams in the 35+ category. The competition will follow a knockout format, according to event coordinator Prakash Phal Magar.
In the open category, each team can have only one player who has represented Nepal’s national team.
The winners will receive 3,155 Australian dollars, along with a trophy and certificate. The runners-up will be awarded 1,855 Australian dollars, along with a trophy and certificate.
The winners of the 35+ category will receive 1,055 Australian dollars, a trophy, and certificate, while the runners-up will receive 555 Australian dollars, a trophy, and certificate.
The best player and individual category winners will be awarded cash prizes and trophies, as announced by the club’s president, Dipendra Rai.
The entry fee for the competition is 375 dollars for the open category and 300 dollars for the 35+ category.
This event is primarily sponsored by Aji Finance and Home Loan, with Expert Education and Visa Services, RE Property, and Fish at the Rocks as platinum sponsors.
Last year, the host club, Gorkha, won the title.
