Blast in Turbat, Balochistan kills 4, injures 32
The incident took place in the Turbat district of the province.
KATHMANDU: A deadly explosion in Turbat, Balochistan, Pakistan, on Saturday resulted in at least four deaths and 32 injuries, as per local media reports.
Among the injured, five are in critical condition.
The cause of the blast remains unknown.
CCTV footage shared by Geo News shows a large flame engulfing a moving passenger bus after the explosion while several vehicles were on the road.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zohaib Mohsin, along with six family members, was injured in the incident while passing through the area.
This follows a similar attack last month in the Dasht area of Turbat, where an IED blast killed two and injured four others, damaging a vehicle.
According to the Center for Research and Security Studies’ Annual Security Report, Balochistan saw 782 deaths in 2024, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s overall death toll of 2,546 from violence.
