Fire breaks out in vacant house in Eastern Singapore, 35 residents evacuated

KATHMANDU: A fire broke out in a vacant three-story semi-detached house in eastern Singapore early on Sunday, prompting the evacuation of around 35 residents.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) responded to the fire around 12:45 a.m., with firefighters from the Kallang and Paya Lebar Fire Stations arriving at the scene.
They found the blaze rapidly spreading from the first floor to the upper levels of the house.
The fire was brought under control by approximately 3:00 a.m., though the upper floors sustained significant smoke and burn damage.
An adjacent property was also affected by the fire.
Fortunately, there were no injuries.
As a precaution, 35 residents from nearby homes were evacuated.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
