Suryadarshan Cooperative fund scam: Defendants’ lawyers continue hearing today

KATHMANDU: The hearing to decide whether to continue the remand for investigation of seven defendants, including Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairperson and former Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, is ongoing at the Kaski District Court.

The defendants are accused of embezzling funds from the Pokhara-based Suryadarshan Cooperative’s savings.

Kaski District Court registrar Rajan Khanal stated that the hearing, which began on Friday with arguments from the defendants’ lawyers, will continue today.

He also mentioned that legal representatives for two of the defendants, Leela Pachhai and Chhabilal Joshi, participated in Friday’s proceedings.

Previously, government lawyers and legal representatives from the petitioner’s side presented their arguments.
