KATHMANDU: Manchester City cruised to a 4-1 victory over West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday in English Premier League.
Erling Haaland was the star of the match, scoring twice for City, while Phil Foden added another.
City also benefited from an own goal by Vladimir Coufal.
For West Ham, Niklas Füllkrug scored their lone goal.
City took an early lead thanks to Coufal’s own goal. Haaland then extended the lead with goals in the 42nd and 55th minutes, taking the score to 3-0. Foden netted City’s fourth goal in the 58th minute.
In the 71st minute, Füllkrug pulled one back for West Ham, but it was too little, too late.
With this win, Manchester City moved to sixth place in the table with 34 points from 20 matches. West Ham sit 13th with 23 points from the same number of games.
In other Saturday fixtures, Newcastle United defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1, while Aston Villa secured a 2-1 win over Leicester City.
Brentford thrashed Southampton 5-0, and Bournemouth edged Everton 1-0.
Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Brighton and Arsenal played out 1-1 draws.
