Laxmi Sunrise Bank concludes nationwide digital dialogue program

KATHMANDU: Laxmi Sunrise Bank has successfully completed a nationwide digital dialogue program under its sixth annual campaign, focusing on financial literacy, digital banking security, and modern banking tools.

During the program, panel discussions were held to educate participants from various groups on the effectiveness of digital financial services, the importance of security, and appropriate banking and financial practices.
These discussions were held in major cities across all seven provinces of Nepal on the following dates:
- Pokhara, Gandaki Province: December 11, 2024
- Surkhet, Karnali Province: December 13, 2024
- Itahari, Koshi Province: December 18, 2024
- Janakpur, Madhesh Province: December 20, 2024
- Hetauda, Bagmati Province: December 23, 2024
- Dhangadhi, Sudurpashchim Province: December 24, 2024
- Bhairahawa, Lumbini Province: December 27, 2024
- Kathmandu Valley: December 29, 2024
Each event featured key addresses from senior officials of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), along with panel members from various sectors, including Nepal Police, local representatives, business leaders, university academics, representatives of the differently-abled community, high-turnover traders, and local community leaders.
Over 500 participants, including students, youth, employees, entrepreneurs, and community representatives, attended these programs.
The campaign aimed to financially empower different communities across the country through digital literacy, while also encouraging the use of digital banking.
The topics covered in the program included:
- Financial digital literacy
- How digital banking can improve quality of life
- The benefits of digital banking in the economy and broader ecosystem
- The digitalization landscape in Nepal’s service sector
- The current state of digital banking in Nepal
- Challenges of digital banking (security, risks, types of fraud, and solutions)
- The future of digitalization and digital banking in Nepal
Focusing on technology, risk management, and institutional governance, the campaign aimed to instill confidence in individuals and businesses to adopt digital banking.
By engaging various stakeholders and addressing challenges, Laxmi Sunrise Bank’s digital dialogue program has laid the foundation for creating a digitally literate and empowered Nepal.
