Jai Trophy Men’s Elite Cup: Police team announced under Aarif’s captaincy

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police Club has announced its 15-member squad for the Jai Trophy Men’s Elite Cup, with Aarif Sheikh named as captain.
The announcement was made on Friday, replacing the club’s regular captain, Dipendra Singh Airee, who is currently participating in the International League T20 (ILT20) in the UAE.
The Jai Trophy, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), is scheduled to take place from Jan 5 to Jan 13, 2025, in Janakpur and Birgunj of Madhesh Province.
Match Schedule for Nepal Police Club:
- Opening Day: Nepal Police will face Tribhuvan Army Club in their first match.
- Second Match: They will take on Madhesh Province.
- Final League Match: Nepal Police will compete against Bagmati Province.
The tournament features the top four teams from the 2024 Prime Minister’s Cup National One-Day Cricket Championship: Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Bagmati Province, and Madhesh Province.
The competition will follow a single round-robin league format, with the top two teams advancing to the final. According to CAN, league-stage matches will be two-day affairs, while the final will span three days.
