Four killed in jeep accident in Bajhang

Among the victims, three died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.

KATHMANDU: Four people lost their lives in a tragic jeep accident in Talkot Rural Municipality, Bajhang, last night.

According to District Police Office Information Officer Inspector Lokendra Singh Thagunna, the vehicle, a jeep with registration number SE 1 Ja 843, went out of control and crashed.

The accident occurred at approximately 8:30 PM in Sukagad, Talkot Rural Municipality-2.

Among the victims, three died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries en route to the hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Shamsher Malla (33) of Kedarsyu Rural Municipality-1, Bambahadur Dhami (36) of Talkot Rural Municipality-4, Jogeni Devi Dhami (72) of Talkot Rural Municipality-4, and five-year-old Aakriti Dhami, daughter of Bambahadur Dhami. Police reports indicate that the jeep fell about 200 meters from the road.

In a separate incident, another jeep accident in Bajhang’s Masta claimed the life of the driver—the vehicle, bearing registration number Su.Pra.01001 Ja 1398, was traveling from Bhatekola to Ranada when it veered off the road and plunged 100 meters.

The driver, 42-year-old Dharma Thapa of Masta, was the sole occupant and died on the spot.

The second accident occurred around 9 PM near Kotdewal, according to police.
