Laxmi Sunrise concludes nationwide digital dialogue program

KATHMANDU: As a part of its 6th annual #DigitalDecember campaign, Laxmi Sunrise also successfully concluded its Digital Dialogue program—a nationwide series of interactive sessions focusing on financial literacy, digital banking security, and the latest banking tools—reinforcing its commitment to promoting digital literacy and encouraging the adoption of secure and convenient banking solutions.

The program included a series of panel discussions aimed at educating diverse audiences regarding the effectiveness of and safety of digital banking platforms as well as good banking practices.

These discussions were held across all seven provinces of the country, covering key cities in each province as follows:

  • Pokhara, Gandaki Province: 11 December 2024
  •  Surkhet, Karnali Province: 13 December 2024
  • Itahari, Koshi Province: 18 December 2024
  • Janakpur, Madhesh Province: 20 December 2024
  • Hetauda, Bagmati Province: 23 December 2024
  • Dhangadi, Sudurpashchim Province: 24 December 2024
  • Bhairahawa, Lumbini Province: 27 December 2024
  • Kathmandu Valley: 29 December 2024

Each session featured a keynote address from high-ranking officials from Nepal Rastra Bank and a distinguished mix of panelists that included representatives from local authorities, Nepal Police, business community leaders, academicians from universities, people with disabilities, high-transacting merchants from key cities, and community representatives.

The sessions benefitted over 500 individuals from diverse demographics—students, youths, salaried personnel, entrepreneurs, merchants, and individuals from local communities.

The discussions aimed to empower communities through digital literacy through a wide range of topics to encourage the adoption of digital banking, such as:

  • Financial Digital Literacy
  • How digital banking can improve livelihoods
  • Benefits for the economy and broader ecosystem
  • Digitization landscape in Nepal’s service sector
  • Present situation of digital banking in Nepal
  • Challenges in digital banking (safety, risks, types of frauds and mitigation strategies)
  • Future of digitization and digital banking in Nepal

By focusing on technology, risk management, and corporate governance, the campaign empowered individuals and businesses to embrace digital banking practices confidently.

Engaging with diverse stakeholders and addressing various challenges, Laxmi Sunrise’s Digital Dialogue program has laid the groundwork for a more informed and digitally empowered Nepal.
