40 Sunjyoti Life agents qualify for MDRT 2025, two agents achieve COT status

KATHMANDU: The international organization of agents, Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), has announced that 40 top agents from Sunjyoti Life Insurance have successfully become members of MDRT 2025, having met the annual business target set for Nepal in 2024.

Among these 40 agents, Gaurav Kumar Shahi and Deepak Sapkota have qualified for the Court of the Table (COT). Gaurav Kumar Shahi has successfully been selected for COT for the second time.

According to the selection, two agents from Koshi Province, one from Madhes Province, 17 from Bagmati Province, five from Gandaki Province, eight from Lumbini Province, five from Karnali Province, and two from Sudurpaschim Province were selected, totaling 40 agents.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Prakash Bikram Khatri, congratulated all 40 agents who have been selected for MDRT 2025, giving them the opportunity to represent Nepal and Sunjyoti Life at the global agents’ meeting to be held in Macau.

CEO Khatri also expressed gratitude towards the thousands of diligent, dedicated, and hardworking agents associated with the company, encouraging them to achieve excellence in the days ahead.

Sunjyoti Life Insurance Company Limited currently has a paid-up capital of Rs 5.01 billion, total investments amounting to Rs 41.52 billion, a life insurance fund of Rs 36.05 billion, and has issued 3.1 million insurance policies.

The company operates with 99,545 trained agents and a network of 176 branches nationwide. It is also the first company in the insurance sector to provide up to Rs 5 million in treatment costs for the 35 most critical diseases. It has become the first life insurance company to receive ISO 9001:2015 certification.

Additionally, within the regulatory time frame, the company successfully held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the fiscal year 2023/24 on Dec 21, and distributed a 20% cash dividend to its shareholders.
