Bagmati squad announced under Sandeep Lamichhane’s captaincy

KATHMANDU: The Bagmati Province Cricket Association has announced a 15-member squad for the Jai Trophy Men’s Elite Cup under the captaincy of Sandeep Lamichhane.
The final team was revealed on Thursday, following the selection of an 18-member preliminary squad last week.
Robin Joshi, Ashok Paudel, and Dayanand Mandal, who were part of the preliminary squad, have been excluded from the final list.
The Jai Trophy, organized by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), will take place from Jan 5 to Jan 13, 2025, in Janakpur and Birgunj of Madhesh Province.
The tournament will feature the top four teams from the Prime Minister’s National One-Day Cricket Cup held earlier this year—Nepal Police Club, Tribhuvan Army Club, Bagmati Province, and Madhesh Province.
The competition will follow a single round-robin league format, with the top two teams advancing to the final. League matches will be played as two-day games, while the final will be a three-day affair, according to CAN.
Bagmati Province will play all its league matches in Janakpur and face Madhesh Province in the opening match of the tournament.
