KATHMANDU: Arsenal secured a commanding 3-1 victory over Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday, moving up to second place in the Premier League standings.

The Gunners’ goals came from Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli, and Martin Ødegaard, while Bryan Mbeumo scored Brentford’s lone goal.

Brentford took an early lead in the 13th minute when Mbeumo found the back of the net.

However, Arsenal equalized in the 29th minute through a well-placed goal by Gabriel Jesus.

The first half ended with the score tied at 1-1.

In the second half, Martin Ødegaard put Arsenal ahead in the 50th minute.

Just three minutes later, Gabriel Martinelli extended the lead, sealing the victory for the Gunners.

With this win, Arsenal now has 39 points from 19 matches, sitting six points behind league leaders Liverpool, who have played one game fewer.

Brentford remains in 12th place with 24 points from 19 games.
