Everest Bank partners with SCT for interbank payment services via SmartPay

KATHMANDU: Everest Bank Limited, a trusted banking institution serving Nepalis for over three decades, has signed an agreement with SmartChoice Technologies Limited (SCT), a licensed payment system operator authorized by Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB), to enable interbank payment services through the SmartPay platform.

Following this agreement, Everest Bank customers will be able to receive funds transferred to their bank accounts instantly through the SmartPay service, both from domestic and international sources.

SCT, which has been providing various payment services, including card payments, QR codes, interbank transactions, and mobile banking for over two decades, launched its interbank payment service under the SmartPay brand earlier this year.

This service facilitates seamless and swift fund transfers across all banks in Nepal for banks, financial institutions, remittance companies, broker houses, insurance companies, and large corporations.

The partnership is expected to enhance the speed, reliability, and efficiency of payment transfers received through Everest Bank Limited, providing greater convenience to its customers.
