KATHMANDU: The trailer for the much-awaited Nepali film Karsang has been released, offering a glimpse into a gripping tale of societal struggles and familial bonds.

The trailer unfolds the bitterness and hardships of life, showcasing themes of belief in shamans, traditional customs, financial challenges, and social ostracism.
It dives into the conflicts of anger, resentment, and decisions that lead to familial discord, portraying the protagonist’s relentless fight for dignity amidst compromises.
Exploring superstitions, familial love, and the societal obsession with gossip, the trailer depicts the fractures caused in families and how a ruthless society turns a struggling household into a scapegoat.
Directed by Yam Sherpa in his debut, Karsang is set to release on Jan 10.
The film is rooted in a rural setting and centers on the challenges of poverty, deprivation, and cultural narratives of the Sherpa community. Despite its specific cultural focus, the director assures it is a story everyone can relate to.
