Lucknow: Man held for murdering mother & four sisters

Police have arrested the elder brother of the deceased children, who allegedly slit their wrists following a family dispute.

KATHMANDU: Five family members, including a mother and her four daughters, were found dead at Hotel Sharanjeet in Lucknow’s Naka area.

Police have arrested 24-year-old Arshad, the son and brother of the victims, for allegedly murdering them.

According to initial reports, Arshad confessed to the killings, citing a family dispute as the motive.

The bodies of Asma (mother), Rahmeen (18), Alshia (19), and two minors aged 16 and 9, were discovered in a hotel room.

Arshad, a resident of Islam Nagar, Agra, was apprehended at the crime scene.

The police have launched a detailed investigation, and all bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

DCP Central Raveena Tyagi confirmed the incident, stating, “The bodies of five people were found today in a room of Hotel Sharanjeet.

The local police detained Arshad, who, during preliminary questioning, admitted to murdering his mother and four sisters over a family dispute.

The family arrived at the hotel on Dec 30.

Hotel staff confirmed that Arshad, along with his father, was present at the scene.

Further interrogations are ongoing, and investigations are underway.
