In Pics: Topi Diwas celebration at Basantapur

KATHMANDU: The first day of 2025 was marked as Nepali Topi Day with various programs across the country. In Kathmandu, an event was organized at Basantapur on Wednesday by the Jagaran Yuwa Abhiyan Nepal.

The celebration highlights the campaign’s demand to recognize Nepali Topi (Dhaka Topi and Bhadgaunle Topi) as a national identity.

This initiative began after the government removed Daura Suruwal, Topi, and Gunyu Cholo from the list of national attires.

Participants carried placards with slogans such as “Nepali Topi, Pride of Nepal,” “Wear Nepali Topi, Enhance Identity,” and “Nepali Topi, Our Identity” as part of the celebration.
